Danny Kinda Reports from Big South
A couple weeks ago the Kinda Good Crew went to the Big South Volleyball Qualifier and got to do a lot of fun things while in Atlanta. Check out Danny Kinda put on his journalist hat and get down to the bottom of the Big South experience…
Danny Kinda and Big South: The Lauri Dagostino Interview
Danny Kinda interviews Big South Tournament Director Lauri Dagostino about running the tournament after a volcano attack, yellow cards, vertical jump, and much more.
Kinda Good and Big South: A very Big Thank You!

Dear Everybody,
The Kinda Good Crew and I are done with The Big South Qualifier. It’s been one HECK of an event, even with volcanoes messing everything up. I’m actually a little surprised they still used “Molten” volleyballs. Lauri Dagostino (whose last name has alternative spelling options, including “digestion”) is Kinda Good. She’s the one who organized the entire tournament in about 3 days. I know this because I spent two of those days in the same room with her as she kept running over to me and AJ and telling us what new info to put on the Big South bomb-shelter that was www.kindagood.com/bigsouth.
On behalf of the entire Kinda Good Crew, I’d like to thank everyone for their kind and inspiring words in person and in emails. We witnessed how long and hard everyone worked to make this thing happen and lemme tell ‘ya…It took a lot of time, a lot of emails, a lot of phone calls, and a lot of caring people. Thanks for letting us share some time with you.

Danny Kinda and Big South #3: Where my dogs at??
So there’s 9 sites for this Big South tournament thing and only one me. I do what they tell me and they tell me to be in the GICC, so I’m stuck here. That’s okay because this place has 31 courts and so that’s still a bunch. Plus, they’ve got those little mini Papa John’s personal pizzas which add up to about 1 actual slice of pizza. The worst part is that Billy wanted one and didn’t have his wallet so I had to pay for him. AJ has the Kinda Good credit card. He wouldn’t pay.
So we made AJ stay at the booth and answer questions like “Does this shirt come in pink?” We didn’t make any pink shirts. Me and Billy were out waving gigantic orange flags and watching people look at us like we were crazy. But what those people didn’t know is that we’re not crazy. We’re just very good cheerers. Gigantic flags are what it takes to cheer one’s heart out, okay?

Danny Kinda and Big South #2: Danny "Helps" Big South
We’ve got more videos, by the way…You’ll like ‘em!
I spent all day working out the big details for the Big South event here in Tornadolanta. In fact, I made a video about it…Enjoy!
Danny Kinda and Big South #1: The First Night
More from the road, this time we’re in TwisterTown, aka Atlanta, aka The ATL, aka The Dirty. It’s early. The Kinda Good Crew and I weren’t supposed to get here until Thursday and it’s Tuesday. I’m missing Taco Tuesday at the Redondo Beach Pier!!
Big South coordinator Lauri Dagostino asked me and The Kinda Good Crew to come to ATL a couple days early to help spread the word (throughout the internet) that even though some volcanoes had blown over some of the downtown area, the Big Sough Volleyball Qualifier will still go on! Now, the convention center has a zillion dollars of damage done to it. Whoops. So obviously we can’t have kids playing in there and hitting the ceiling with skyballs! There’s plywood up there keeping the roof on!

I HAVE AN IDEA! Big South should move the games to somewhere else. Maybe even multiple elsewheres? Actually, that was Lauri’s idea. She also told me to tell you that everything is gonna be fine and YEAH, maybe this won’t be the typical “sit in a windowless convention center and get zombie’d out for 3 days” weekend, maybe maybe maybe this’ll be BETTER!
One thing I do know is…This is gonna be one big adventure! I’m gonna share the experience right here on KindaGood.com with everybody so everybody forget your Big South Evacuation Routes, come out of your bunkers, and let’s have some FUN this weekend!
Let’s play some volleyball.
